On February 20, the College of Engineering and the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Yuan Ze University hosted a meaningful academic exchange visit, welcoming a delegation of eight faculty members and students from Fukuoka University’s Department of Chemical Engineering, led by Professor Kenji Mishima. This visit not only deepened the collaboration between the two universities in chemical engineering and materials science but also laid a solid foundation for future academic and research cooperation.
Lan Chi-Wei, Chair of Yuan Ze University’s Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, stated that Yuan Ze University and Fukuoka University had officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in April 2024. This visit served as a key step in implementing the agreement. The delegation focused on exploring Yuan Ze University’s advanced teaching and research facilities, including the Precision Instrumentation Center, Smart Zero-Carbon Teaching Classroom, and Craft Beer Research Laboratory, showcasing the department’s expertise in analytical techniques, sustainable development, and biochemical research.
During the visit, the Precision Instrumentation Center highlighted Yuan Ze’s strong foundation in cutting-edge analytical technologies, while the Smart Zero-Carbon Teaching Classroom demonstrated the university’s forward-thinking approach to green energy and sustainability. The visiting faculty and students were particularly impressed by the innovative campus design and technological applications. Additionally, discussions at the Craft Beer Research Laboratory led to in-depth exchanges on biochemical applications, sparking new opportunities for future research collaboration.
Lan Chi-Wei emphasized that this exchange not only showcased the diverse teaching and research strengths of Yuan Ze University’s Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science but also further strengthened academic ties between the two institutions.
