Reflection on “The Psychology of Killing in War”.

Recently, “The Psychology of Killing in War” and the new edition of “On Killing” debuted, marking the first comprehensive study dedicated to the act of killing in wartime.

Authored by Dave Grossman, a veteran with 24 years of service, the book draws from a deep well of personal experience. Grossman merges psychology, historical analysis, and interviews with veterans to explore the behaviors associated with wartime killing. The book has been included in the mandatory reading list for students at West Point and is also part of the recommended reading list for commanders in the U.S. Marine Corps.
